Mac Attack! Dealing with Apples in a Windows Environment
Presenter: Dan Mulroy
Kevin and Dan will be dishing out all but their most useful methods and tools for managing and supporting Macs. Whether you’re supporting a stand-alone workstation, a peer to peer workgroup or even on a Windows Domain network, we’ll have the answers.
We will cover all the things a skilled PC technician should know about Mac and iOS products, enabling you to semi-competently address issues with Macs. An overview of how the operating system works, techniques for isolating the cause of most problems, as well as simple, broad spectrum approaches to prevent or fix most Mac bugs will be discussed and reviewed.
We will break out the discussion into 2 parts: Mac Troubleshooting and IOS Troubleshooting. You will be exposed to parts of the GUI you never knew about it and terminal shell. A detailed document with the tools/methods we are going to cover will be handed out to everyone so that you won’t have to frantically write it all down. Sit back, relax and learn to be one with having a bit of Steve in your Jobs.

Starting as a foreman for a boutique design/build landscape firm, it was easy for Kevin Gibb to see the technology industry flourishing around him, with jobs popping up like so many weeds! Starting at a help desk in Antarctica (true story), he quickly graduated to working and consulting for large commercial firms like Qualcomm and Fox Studios. His preference for working with smaller groups of people led to the creation of Gibb Network Consulting in 1999 to focus on the SMB market. The relationships he enjoys with his clients are the most rewarding part of his job, besides the invoicing and tax prep. He is also a world renowned consultant in the field of magic carpet aerodynamics and high-performance tassel design.
